Job Description The University of La Verne is a private not-for-profit university founded in 1891 located in La Verne, California. ULV's Creative Writing Program invites applications for adjunct faculty to teach a single section of Creative Writing 305: Literary Magazine Staff at the undergraduate level during fall semester 2026. The course is scheduled to meet Mondays from 3:30pm-5:05pm on the La Verne Campus. The fall semester runs from August 17-December 7 (with time for prep prior and grading post). Please include a cover letter indicating your interest in teaching this course and your personal and instructional experiences that qualify you to teach undergraduate publishing-related courses (please note that this course has been previously offered and some course materials will be available to the hired instructor). Responsibilities The primary responsibility of adjunct faculty is to deliver instruction in the manner determined by the Creative Writing Program. In addition, faculty responsibilities may include: Preparation of syllabus and teaching of curriculum according to the goals and objectives of the Creative Writing Program. Determine student success in applying material and assign final course grades primarily from evaluation of reading responses, presentations, original critical work, and other assignments and activities related to course material. Workload Assigned teaching duties will be 2 units; minimal office hours may be assigned. Required Qualifications MFA or PhD degree in creative writing.
