Grad & International Admission Location Edwardsville, IL Open Date Jun 29, 2026 Salary Range or Pay Grade $7,206 - $8,560 per 6 credit hours in one semester Description The English Lecturer will work with the director of the IEP to implement and teach effective and engagning program curricula to incoming international English language learners who have not yet met SIUE's proficiency requirements for direct entry into their degree programs. The program will offer two levels of English learning to accommodate for learners' varying English skills, which will prepare them for success in academic coursework at SIUE. Levels taught fall between the CEFR scale of B1 to a low B2.
Responsibilities will include:
12 OR 24 hours of on-campus teaching per week (based on the lecturer's schedule preference), lesson planning and grading as required per each class's curriculum. Terms of Appointment Fall 2026 semester with job duties beginning on August 17, 2026 Source of Funds State Qualifications Bachlor's degree from an accredited institution in the U.S. Evidence of a strong sense of pedagogical skills and thoughtful strategies Minimum of one year of ESL teaching experience Experience with diverst, multi-cultural people and cultures U.S. citizen or permanent resident
Availability:
Mondays-Thursdays from 10am-4pm and Fridays from 10am-3pm. (Actual teaching hours could be less, depending on candidates' availabitility.
