Job Description

Job description: Fortis College in Indianapolis is currently seeking a passionate and experienced Medical Assistant looking to make a difference in the lives of aspiring Medical Assistants. In this role, you will have an opportunity to share your industry knowledge and experience, while teaching and mentoring our Medical Assisting students. This is a rewarding position that directly contributes to the future success of students. Come be a part of a dynamic, student-centric team, changing lives daily! The Instructor provides updated and fully prepared instruction to students, actively engages in retention activities, and manages the classroom/lab activities. Teaches courses as assigned by the Department Chair/DOE/Academic Dean. Utilizes unit and daily lesson plans. Utilizes a variety of supplementary resources (i.e. instructional technology, guest speakers, field trips, current articles and literature, discipline-specific equipment, etc.). Maintains laboratory and classroom organization and cleanliness. Actively engages in retention activities including documented communication with both students and administration regarding attendance and progress. Submits assigned grading and attendance documentation on deadline. Provides assistance for the planning, development, and maintenance of program curriculum. Works with the Department Chair/Director of Education/Academic Dean to resolve student concerns. Grades tests, projects, and other assignments in a required timeframe. Records and maintains accurate student attendance and grade records.
