Job Description

TULANE UNIVERSITY
Department of English, 122 Norman Mayer Hall, New Orleans, LA 70118 Lecturer in the First-Year Writing Program The Writing Program at Tulane University is seeking a candidate for career-track position of Lecturer for Fall 2026. The teaching load is three sections per semester of first-year composition and the potential of upper division writing in small class sections. Additional duties include active participation in discussions of pedagogy and curriculum with fellow colleagues. Lecturers are hired on an initial three-year contract, renewable with the possibility of promotion and longer contracts, upon successful review. Candidates must have experience teaching composition. A PhD in Rhetoric and Composition, English, or related humanities field, or equivalent terminal degree, is required. We are seeking candidates with a wide range of disciplinary expertise and with the ability and interest in contributing to the development of an expanded writing program.
