Fall 2024 Responsibilities:
Roxbury Community College invites qualified candidates to apply to teach Pre-College Writing or English Composition I starting in Fall 2024. The Pre-College Writing course focuses on paragraph development and organization. Composition I is an introductory course in writing that develops critical thinking and prepares students to write college-level essays and research papers. Candidates should have experience teaching in a multicultural environment and using instructional technology. Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare and distribute syllabi which inform students about course requirements, grading requirements, testing assignments, attendance policy, and other information for each course assigned. Prepare, administer, and grade assignments and examinations in a timely manner to inform students about their progress. Encourage use of support services by students. Collaborate with support services staff to ensure that information is being shared and discussed. Follow procedures related to the Registrar's office, including grade reports and deadlines; attendance record reports; withdrawal deadlines; class changes; and time and room scheduling. Requirements:
Master's degree in English, Composition/Rhetoric, Literacy or closely-related area Teaching experience in higher education (community college experience is preferred) Experience with, and a desire to use, instructional technology Additional Information:
