  • Position Summary Capitol Technology University seeks a dedicated and dynamic Adjunct Instructor for English Courses to join our faculty starting Fall 2026. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching undergraduate English courses, including composition and academic writing. This position requires teaching in person at our Laurel, Maryland campus.
  • Position Qualifications A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's or Doctorate in English, Literature, Composition, or a closely related field is preferred College-level teaching experience preferred Experience teaching English composition or writing-intensive courses Ability to develop and deliver course materials aligned with curriculum standards Strong commitment to student success and engagement Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion Ability to work in the U.
S. without sponsorship Willingness to teach in person (day and/or evening classes) Ability to stay current with developments in English studies and writing pedagogy
  • Essential Duties Teach and manage English courses, ensuring alignment with university standards Facilitate engaging and effective classroom instruction Adhere to university policies for in-person, online, and hybrid instruction Maintain regular communication with students and provide academic support Submit final grades within 48 hours of course completion Participate in student learning outcomes assessment Maintain office hours for student support Assist in selecting course materials when requested Complete additional duties as assigned•Application Instructions Interested candidates should submit: 1.

  • Physical Demands This position requires occasional sitting for extended periods, use of a computer, and communication via phone. Candidates must be able to bend, grasp, and occasionally lift up to 20 lbs., with or without accommodation.
