This position provides instruction in composition, technical and business writing, and literature courses to meet general education and workforce preparation needs of our students.

As a full-time faculty member, you will belong to an organization that values writing as a practical and transferable skill that supports academic success, workforce readiness, and lifelong learning. The successful candidate will teach primarily first-year composition in 8‑week blocks using on‑campus, asynchronous online, and blended formats. Additional teaching opportunities may include literature, technical writing, business communication, and related courses supporting general education, transfer, and workforce programs. Instruction should help students develop strong writing skills for diverse audiences and purposes, emphasizing clarity, organization, and effective use of information. Faculty work collaboratively to support curriculum development, assessment, scheduling, and student success initiatives. Active participation in departmental and campus life is an essential component of this on-campus position. Therefore, candidates must reside in or relocate to the Great Falls, Montana, area by the start date. This is a 9-month position with optional summer teaching based on enrollment and departmental priorities. Teaching assignments may occasionally include evening courses or other times that best meet student needs.

Required Qualifications - Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills Master's degree in English, composition, or closely related field OR Master's degree plus 9 graduate credits in English, composition, or closely related field Experience in course development and teaching at a post-secondary level Demonstrated commitment to student success and ability to relate well to diverse students Ability to use computers and instructional technology Effective written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work positively with teams and individuals with diverse backgrounds Preferred Qualifications - Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills Teaching experience at a two-year college Experience teaching College Composition I Online teaching experience Experience teaching in a compressed or accelerated non-standard semester schedule The Successful Candidate Will Special Requirements Physical Demands The Program The Department The College Great Falls College MSU is a comprehensive two-year college located on a beautiful 20-acre campus that serves approximately 1,000 students a year in the heart of Montana, with easy access to outstanding outdoor opportunities, including the 60-mile River's Edge Trail on the Missouri River in and around Great Falls. Great Falls College offers courses and programs in health sciences, trades, computer technology and accounting, with a robust offering of online classes and programs. Great Falls College, which has 159 FTE faculty, staff and administrators, is one of four units of Montana State University and MSU's only "stand-alone" two-year college.
