Position:
NMMI seeks a tenure-track Business faculty member to teach both secondary (high school) and postsecondary (junior college) business courses, including Financial and Managerial Accounting. Must provide high-quality instruction in business-related coursework in support of NMMI's dual-mission academic program. Faculty are expected to further the mission of NMMI, most specifically the academic ends of a liberal arts education, by developing critical thinking, effective communication, and business knowledge, while supporting cadet academic success within a structured military environment.
Tasks:
Teaching five courses per semester, both high school and college, in the academic discipline of Business, to include Financial and Managerial Accounting. Contribute to the ongoing development of courses Tutoring and mentoring cadets Cooperate with department, division, academic advisors, and others to ensure student success Maintaining an active Professional Development Plan Service on departmental and institutional committees. Abide by institutional policies. Other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills:
Exceptional oral and written communication. Capacity to convey substantive knowledge to all grade levels. Capacity to integrate technology, writing assignments, and ethics discussions into classroom instruction. Collaborative approach to teaching and learning. Willingness to work with cadets in informal advising, tutoring, and mentoring environments.
Qualifications:
Required:
Master's degree in Business Administration or related field, or the ability to obtain within five (5) years of employment. Proven qualifications to teach business coursework, including Accounting, demonstrated through education or work experience. Ability to teach high school and college courses. New Mexico State Teacher's License in Business and Social Studies, or the ability to obtain within five (5) years of employment. Why Should You Apply?
