Job Description
The Humanities Department at Finger Lakes Community College is seeking innovative and adaptable educators committed to student engagement, excellence in teaching, and interdisciplinary collaboration. FLCC offers many different course modalities, such as Asynchronous Online, In-person, Hybrid, HyFlex, and Synchronous Online. Demonstrates knowledge of the current subject area. Implements course outcomes based on the master syllabus. Prepare and distribute an updated course outline specific to the sections taught . Prepares and creates lesson plans, instructional materials, and activities for students. Teaches courses and evaluates student performance. Maintains accurate student records. Submits pertinent data to the department and/or the College. Effective communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in English. Master's degree in English or Education.Preferred Qualifications:
Ph.D. or terminal degree in the following discipline: English - composition, creative writing, digital humanities, history of language, journalism, linguistics, literature, literature in translation, playwriting. Two or more years of experience teaching the subject at the college level. Demonstrated ability to engage students through inclusive, student-centered pedagogy. Evidence of discipline-specific scholarship, professional development, or applied experience.Additional Information:
