The faculty position is an instructional position directly responsible to the Director North Service Area Campus-Gatesville. The instructors duties and responsibilities are teaching students and performing a variety of administrative duties. Adjunct (part-time), semester-based employment with compensation based on course load and institutional pay schedule.
Education and Experience :
Masters degree at least 18 graduate semester credits in the discipline related to the coursework to be taught.--One year teaching experience preferred.
Knowledge Skills and Ability :
Must possess a demonstrated ability to teach subject matter through education, experience, and skills. Ability to communicate with students in a clear manner and to author tests and lesson plans. Must possess the ability to provide academic and vocational guidance to students as needed. Knowledge of academic integrity standards and college-level expectations. Ability to manage email and respond to emails in a timely manner. Experience using educational technology and learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard).
Essential Functions:
Teach courses and ensure the course objectives, as defined in the syllabi are accomplished; use textbooks as approved by the department. Advise students and assist them in obtaining their educational goals. Adhere to assigned class time schedule, track attendance and post final grades Advise the Gatesville office of needed supplies, books equipment, and printing within 72 hours of needed time. Provide statistical information to office as requested. Keep supervisor informed of any student needs and problems. Prepare and administer examinations that cover all materials taught and provide prompt feedback on assignments and exam results. Conducting classroom instruction at the highest possible level of efficiency and interest for students. Maintain accurate and complete records on each student and submit required certification roles by the required deadline set by registrar.
