Adjunct faculty members are responsible for effectively planning and teaching courses in the designated discipline/field of study to students from a variety of academic backgrounds and experiences. Teaching may include a variety of formats: face to face, remote, and online. Adjunct faculty are employed to teach up to 12 credit hours in the fall and spring semester and/or up to 8 credit hours during summer session. Teaching load is based on student enrollment and staffing needs. The adjunct faculty contract contains no expectation or guarantee of continued employment. The Fine Arts department of Northern Virginia Community College, Loudoun Campus is seeking qualified candidates who can teach the following courses: 1. Two
- and Three-dimensional design, Color Sculpture.
2. Drawing and Advanced Drawing.
Duties and Tasks:
Teach specific classes in the designated discipline. Develop course syllabi and instructional materials. Maintain records, assign grades, and assess student progress. Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations of NOVA and the VCCS. Maintain current competence in the particular discipline or field of specialization. Special Assignments
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor. KSA's/Required Qualifications

Adept knowledge of instructional technologies. Excellent interpersonal and native or near-native oral and written English skills. Ability to work with a diverse student population. Successful passing of a criminal background check. Adjunct faculty are required to meet assigned classes on meeting dates, submit required grade records and reports, student learning outcomes. Classes may be held during the day, evening or combination of both. Required Qualifications Master's degree in the teaching field or Master degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching field. Qualifying degrees and coursework should be from a regionally accredited institution. Additional Considerations
