Position Summary The International School of Arizona seeks an enthusiastic and qualified Lower School English Language Arts Teacher to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year. The successful candidate will teach English Language Arts and Social Studies to students in one or more grade levels within Grades K-5. Working alongside French and Spanish immersion colleagues, the teacher will help students develop strong literacy, communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in a nurturing and internationally minded learning environment. Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction. Foster a positive, inclusive, and student-centered classroom culture. Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs and learning styles. Assess student learning and provide timely feedback to students and families. Utilize best practices in language and literacy development. Collaborate with colleagues to create interdisciplinary and inquiry-based learning experiences. Maintain open, proactive communication with families. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events. Support students during non-academic activities, including recess, lunch, and special events. Contribute positively to the life and culture of the school community. Desired Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field required. Master's degree preferred. Valid teaching certificate preferred. Ability to obtain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card. Experience teaching elementary-aged students. Strong understanding of literacy instruction and child development. Experience with inquiry-based, project-based, or concept-based learning is a plus. Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills. Commitment to continuous professional growth.
