Avalon School's vacancy is for a secondary English teacher position. The assignment consists of teaching grades 7, 8, and 9 as a singleton content teacher. Opportunities for collaboration exist within the English department, composed of two teachers at Avalon School. If selected, relocation to the island is optional; it is not a prerequisite for employment at Avalon School. The majority of certificated staff are commuters, living in Long Beach and beyond, who take a ferry each day to get to the island. Ferry transportation is covered by the district.
