Job Summary Job Summary The Career Advancement Charter School's mission is to provide a premier program to obtain a high school diploma with opportunities to acquire academic and technical skills that lead to college and career readiness. As part of the Santa Cruz County Office of Education, the Career Advancement Charter School will partner with the workforce development board, school districts, and other allies to achieve this mission by engaging students through work-based, relationship-focused, innovative and rigorous learning experiences resulting in students and graduates being "Ready for College and a Career". The Charter School will serve students ages 18 and older who have not yet obtained a high school diploma in multiple locations within Santa Cruz County. View Job Description Requirements / Qualifications This position supports the CAC Adult High School Diploma Program by providing flexible, itinerant instruction based on student and program needs. The teacher may deliver independent study instruction, targeted literacy and math intervention, and career readiness coaching, including resume writing and job search strategies. The role may also involve small-group instruction, digital literacy support, and English as a Second Language/English Language Development (ESL/ELD) instruction. This position is designed to adapt to the diverse learning goals of adult students while supporting their progress toward high school completion and career advancement. Must hold an appropriate California Teaching Credential; Multiple or Single Subject; Must have English Learner (EL) Authorization; Valid Class C California Driver's License; Valid TB Test. MA (pro-rated) stipend $1,500; Doctorate (pro-rated) stipend $400.
Location:
This is an itinerant position and may carry a caseload of students at one or more of the following locations: Career Advancement Charter North County, Career Advancement Charter South County, and Santa Cruz Corrections or Probation. May be required to work afternoon and evenings based on student need.
School Year:
185 days per year to start August 2026 Bilingual Preferred MA (pro-rated) stipend $1,500; Doctorate (pro-rated) stipend $400. Fully paid dental and vision insurance covering both employee and dependents. The employee is also provided with long-term disability insurance and life insurance.
Medical benefits:
There is an employee paid portion for medical benefits depending upon the medical plan chosen which covers employee and dependents.
