Appropriate California Teaching Credential authorizing service as an English teacher EL certification Prepared to implement the California and District Language Arts Content Standards and study skills needed for high student achievement Secondary School teaching experience preferred Successful experience in teaching reading and/or reading remediation at the secondary level is desirable Knowledgeable of successful methodologies in teaching literature and the writing process to students with differing abilities Aware of current trends in English education technology and ability to implement technology throughout the curriculum Committed to working collaboratively with a team of teachers Realizes and defines the need for a positive, motivating environment for all students, including English language learners and learning handicapped Willingness to be an active participant in co-curricular clubs, activities, or sports programs of the school, which includes additional hours Possesses a high regard for teacher and student accountability Utilizes a firm, fair, and consistent plan for classroom discipline aligned with school policy Committed to ongoing professional growth and continuing educationPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
