Job Description

Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join our team at a public charter school. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of linguistics and demonstrate effective behavior management skills. This role requires an individual who can educate students in the English language, fostering their communication abilities while integrating learning technology into the curriculum. The English Teacher will play a crucial role in preparing students for standardized testing and enhancing their overall writing and reading skills. Duties Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles. Educate students on various aspects of the English language, including grammar, literature, composition, and linguistics. Utilize learning technology to enhance instructional delivery and student engagement. Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive learning environment. Assess student progress through standardized testing and provide constructive feedback to support their growth. Facilitate discussions that encourage critical thinking and effective communication among students. Provide copy editing support for student assignments, guiding them in refining their writing style. Collaborate with fellow educators to share best practices and improve teaching strategies. Experience A degree in English, Education, or a related field is preferred. Previous experience teaching in a private school setting is advantageous. Strong organizational skills to manage classroom activities and student records efficiently. Proficiency in behavior management techniques to maintain an orderly classroom environment. Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and requirements. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
