Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dynamic High School Teacher specializing in English to inspire and educate students in a vibrant learning environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to foster literacy, critical thinking, and creative expression among high school students. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm for teaching, a strong command of language arts, and a commitment to student success. As a key member of our educational team, you will design engaging lessons, support diverse learning needs, and promote a love for literature and effective communication. Duties Develop and implement comprehensive English curricula aligned with educational standards and best practices in literacy education. Create innovative lesson plans that incorporate instructional design principles, learning technology, and creative writing techniques. Deliver engaging classroom instruction that promotes active participation, critical analysis, and effective communication skills. Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and project-based evaluations; provide constructive feedback to support growth. Mentor and support students individually or in small groups, including tutoring sessions and academic advising to enhance their language skills. Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management strategies and classroom management techniques. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, interdisciplinary projects, and school-wide initiatives to enrich the learning experience. Requirements Bachelor's degree in English, Education, Linguistics, or a related field; higher education teaching experience is preferred. Valid teaching certification for high school education; state-specific licensure may be required. Demonstrated experience in classroom management, lesson planning, and instructional design tailored for high school students. Familiarity with standardized testing procedures, literacy education strategies, and research methodologies. Experience working with diverse student populations including those requiring special education accommodations or Montessori-based approaches is advantageous. Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—and organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities effectively. Proficiency with learning technology tools such as digital platforms for instruction, library services integration, and educational software. Ability to mentor students in journalism, creative writing projects, or extracurricular activities related to language arts. Pay:
$48,000.00 - $65,307.33 per year
