This role offers an exciting opportunity to design engaging curricula, implement innovative teaching strategies, and support students' academic growth across diverse learning environments. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of creativity, organizational prowess, and a commitment to educational excellence, ensuring each student develops strong communication skills and critical thinking abilities essential for success. Duties Develop comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating creative writing, journalism, and literary analysis to ignite student interest Deliver engaging instruction in English language arts, including reading comprehension, writing skills, and vocabulary development Utilize learning technology tools to enhance classroom instruction and facilitate interactive learning experiences Implement classroom management techniques that promote a positive, inclusive environment conducive to active participation Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and project-based evaluations; provide timely feedback to support growth Mentor students individually or in small groups, offering academic advising and tailored tutoring to meet diverse needs Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional design, and school-wide initiatives such as literacy education programs and library services Engage in professional development opportunities related to Chicago Manual of Style standards, linguistics, special education practices, or Montessori methods as applicable Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavioral incidents in accordance with education administration policies Experience Proven classroom experience teaching middle or high school English or related subjects with a track record of fostering student engagement and achievement Strong background in curriculum development, lesson planning, and instructional design tailored to varied learning styles Familiarity with AP style, copy editing, proofreading, and standardized testing procedures within educational settings Experience mentoring students or supporting their academic growth through tutoring or private school environments Knowledge of literacy education strategies, research methodologies, and the use of learning technology tools for effective instruction Demonstrated ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while maintaining a positive learning environment Higher education teaching experience or advanced degrees in English, linguistics, education administration or related fields are highly desirable Join us in shaping the future by empowering students through inspiring teaching practices that develop their communication skills and ignite their passion for learning!
