7th & 8th Grade English Teacher

Middle School English Teacher (7th & 8th) - This individual will serve as an integral part of the middle school team by supporting the school's advisory and elective programs in addition to core coursework. Our English program centers student voice and choice, giving learners daily time for independent writing on personally meaningful topics, supported by focused teacher feedback and inspiration from mentor texts within a collaborative classroom community. Reading instruction follows research-based principles from the science of reading, with explicit teaching of foundational skills, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and metacognitive strategies, alongside rich discussions of high-quality texts that build critical thinking and a lasting love of literature. Grammar and vocabulary are intentionally woven into reading and writing experiences through engaging, targeted lessons and practice, ensuring that every student grows as a confident, capable communicator. Candidates should have a degree in Middle School Education, English or related field and a minimum of three years in a classroom environment. Full-time position, 10 month employee.
