  • Full-time First Presbyterian Christian Academy is an independent, PK-12, co-educational day school in Hinesville, Georgia.
FPCA serves approximately 330 students. The school is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the position of upper school ELA teacher. Upper school ELA teachers are responsible for instructing students in grades 9-12. Teachers will creates lesson plans, instruct students on subjects/courses such as 9th grade English, American Literature, British Literature, and Advanced Composition as well as create a well-rounded, learning environment.
Responsibilities:
Prompt and regular attendance Create lesson plans based on Georgia State Standards and modify accordingly throughout the year Provides and uses appropriate teaching strategies Create instructional resources for use in the classroom Create a positive educational climate for students to learn Meet course and school-wide student performance goals Participate in ongoing professional learning Maintain current grades for all students Effectively communicate with parents and students as appropriate
Qualifications:
Strong classroom management and communication skills Proven experience in lesson planning and curriculum development Proficiency in teaching various science subjects, including biology and chemistry Familiarity with assessment and instructional design Ability to mentor and support diverse student needs Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as assigned by the
Head of School Other:
Salary is comparable and based on years of experience.
