POSITION OVERVIEW

East Marshall CSD is seeking a dedicated and student-centered educator to fill a 1.0 FTE English/Language Arts Instructor position for grades 7-12. This position is part of the 7-12 program at our junior/senior high school in LeGrand and begins with the 2026-27 school year.

REQUIRED CREDENTIALS

Valid Iowa Teaching License 7-12 or 9-12 English/Language Arts Endorsement — Required Highly Qualified Teacher (HQT) credentials

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS ELL

(English Language Learner) endorsement — preferred, not required Previous experience at the junior/senior high school level — preferred, not required Experience with extracurricular activities — preferred, not required Strong written and verbal communication skills Commitment to student engagement and differentiated instruction

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned ELA instruction for grades 7-12 Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual needs Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and vertical alignment Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with parents/guardians Participate in professional development and school improvement initiatives Other duties as assigned
