Job Description

Job Summary Gooding Middle School is seeking a dedicated and passionate 8th Grade English Teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will foster a love for reading and writing in students while promoting critical thinking and effective communication skills. This full-time position requires a commitment to creating an engaging and supportive learning environment that encourages student growth and academic achievement. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with state standards and cater to diverse learning styles. Teach a curriculum that includes literature, writing, grammar, and vocabulary, promoting an understanding of language arts. Assess student progress through a variety of methods, including tests, projects, and class participation, and provide constructive feedback to support improvement. Create a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation, collaboration, and respect for diverse perspectives. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, classroom activities, and any concerns that may arise. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience and participate in faculty meetings and professional development opportunities. Integrate technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance student learning and engagement. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation. Support school-wide initiatives and participate in extracurricular activities as needed. Requirements Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus. Valid teaching certification/license for middle school English education. Strong knowledge of English language arts curriculum and best teaching practices. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to create an inclusive and engaging classroom environment. Experience working with middle school students preferred. Proficiency in using technology to support teaching and learning. Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with educational trends. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents. Must complete a background check through the State Department of Education.
