Job Description
Summary Gooding High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated High School English Teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop a love for literature, writing, and critical thinking. This full-time position requires a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and engaging students in meaningful discussions and projects that enhance their understanding of the English language and literature. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and curriculum objectives. Teach a range of English courses, including literature, composition, and creative writing. Assess and evaluate student performance through assignments, tests, and projects, providing constructive feedback to support student growth. Foster a classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and respect for diverse perspectives. Integrate technology and multimedia resources to enhance the learning experience. Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and participate in professional development opportunities. Communicate regularly with students, parents, and school administration regarding student progress and classroom activities. Participate in school events, committees, and extracurricular activities to promote a positive school culture. Support students in developing their writing skills, critical thinking, and analytical abilities. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation. Requirements Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field. Valid teaching certification or license in English education for high school level. Strong knowledge of English language arts curriculum and instructional strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to engage and motivate students with diverse learning needs and backgrounds. Proficiency in using technology for classroom instruction and student engagement. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Commitment to ongoing professional development and collaboration with colleagues. Previous teaching experience at the high school level is preferred but not required. Must complete a background check through the Idaho State Department of Education.
