Job Description

ELA Instructor (Part-Time) Tracking Code 1499-127 Job Description College & Career Readiness is a grant funded program. Positions are contingent upon continued grant funding.
POSITION PURPOSE
Teach English language skills to adult students with diverse educational backgrounds and cultures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Create a positive, professional image of College & Career Readiness Teach English language skills to adults at multiple skill levels Manage an active, productive learning environment for adult students Provide instruction through a range of modalities, including using technology in the classroom Become familiar with, and follow, provided curriculum Follow and submit lesson plans as required Work with Intake staff on proper student placement Assist students with accomplishment of educational goals Participate in staff development activities Respond in a timely manner to administrative staff
SPECIFIC SKILLS PREFERRED/REQUIRED
Work effectively with staff and students of various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds Possess excellent customer service skills Ability tow ork in a highly fluid environment, while maintaining good working relationships Ability to maintain confidentiality in all student matters Possess excellent communication skills
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE PREFERRED/REQUIRED
Ability to learn and use program data management syste Have a basic knowledge of computers and Microsoft suite of programs Have sufficient computer competency to troubleshoot technological problems
EDUCATION / TRAINING PREFERRED/REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree required.
