Job Description

Job Summary Canyon Ridge High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Language Arts Teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop a love for reading, writing, and critical thinking while fostering a supportive and engaging classroom environment. This full-time position requires a commitment to academic excellence and the ability to connect with diverse learners. This position will teach Freshman Foundations with an emphasis on literacy. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and promote literacy skills. Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration. Assess and evaluate student progress through various methods, including tests, projects, and presentations. Provide timely feedback to students and communicate progress to parents and guardians. Incorporate technology and innovative teaching strategies to enhance learning experiences. Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and participate in school-wide initiatives. Support students in developing their writing skills across various genres and formats. Organize and participate in extracurricular activities, such as book clubs or writing contests, to promote a culture of literacy. Attend professional development workshops and stay updated on best practices in language arts education. Uphold school policies and contribute to a safe and respectful school community. Requirements Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. Valid teaching certification in Language Arts or English for the appropriate grade level. Experience teaching Language Arts at the high school level is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of curriculum development and instructional strategies for diverse learners. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students. Proficiency in using educational technology and digital tools to enhance learning. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable classroom environment. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. A passion for literature and a dedication to promoting literacy in all students. All recommendations for hire are tentative offers. Employment is contingent upon Board approval, and successful completion of a federal background check and drug-free workplace pre-employment screening.
