2026-2027 General Summary Legacy Charter School is seeking a passionate and student-centered Intervention Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. We are looking for an educator who is committed to accelerating scholar growth, closing learning gaps, and helping students reach grade-level proficiency through targeted academic support. Legacy Charter School is a high-performing public charter school serving approximately 500 scholars in Pre-K through 8th grade in Chicago's North Lawndale neighborhood. Our team is committed to building a strong learning environment where scholars are challenged, supported, and empowered to succeed academically and personally. About the Role The Intervention Teacher works closely with small groups of scholars, typically 3-8 students, to provide targeted academic support and accelerate progress toward grade-level proficiency. Intervention may take place in the classroom or in a pull-out setting, depending on grade level and student need. This role is ideal for an educator who is skilled in differentiated instruction, data-driven planning, progress monitoring, and relationship-building with scholars, families, and colleagues. What You'll Do As an Intervention Teacher, you will: Provide high-quality, targeted instruction to small groups of scholars needing additional academic support Plan and implement meaningful intervention strategies that support accelerated learning growth Differentiate instruction based on individual scholar needs and performance data Monitor scholar progress regularly and adjust instructional plans accordingly Analyze academic data to evaluate student growth and inform next steps Collaborate actively with grade-level teams and instructional staff Serve as a flexible member of the school community, including guest teaching when needed Build strong, positive relationships with scholars, families, and colleagues Support a classroom and school culture grounded in restorative practices and social-emotional learning Demonstrate respect for diverse identities, perspectives, and experiences Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned in support of scholar success What We're Looking For A successful Legacy educator is someone who: Believes deeply in scholars' potential Holds an unwavering belief that all scholars deserve access to an outstanding education Makes decisions grounded in what is best for students Brings grace, humor, collaboration, and a solutions-oriented mindset to their work Drives academic results Is committed to achieving strong outcomes for scholars Sets high expectations and follows through with grit, urgency, and persistence Continuously seeks opportunities to improve and implement best practices Builds authentic relationships Leads with integrity, humility, and self-awareness Cultivates trust and respect with scholars, families, colleagues, and the broader community Values teamwork and contributes positively to a mission-driven school culture Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university preferred At least 2 years of teaching experience, ideally in an urban school setting Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) or Substitute License requiredCompensation Salary Range:
$46,000 - $54,000+ per year. Based on experience and qualifications.
