2026-2027 General Summary Legacy Charter School is seeking a dynamic and innovative Technology Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This educator will provide scholars in Kindergarten through 8th grade with rigorous, engaging technology instruction that builds transferable skills and prepares them for success in a digital world. The ideal candidate is passionate about integrating technology into learning, creating culturally responsive lessons, and fostering an environment where scholars can develop critical thinking, creativity, and digital literacy skills. Legacy Charter School is a high-performing public charter school serving approximately 500 scholars in Pre-K through 8th grade in Chicago's North Lawndale neighborhood. Our team is committed to creating a joyful, rigorous learning environment where all scholars are supported to thrive academically and personally. About the Role The Technology Teacher designs and delivers standards-aligned instruction rooted in the ISTE Standards for Students, ensuring scholars build foundational and advanced technology skills across grade levels. This role is ideal for an educator who excels in curriculum design, collaboration, and integrating technology into core academic learning while building strong relationships with scholars and families. What You'll Do As a Technology Teacher, you will: Deliver high-quality, engaging, and standards-based technology instruction to scholars in grades K-8 Design lessons aligned to ISTE standards, incorporating culturally relevant and rigorous pedagogy Develop a vertically aligned curriculum that builds technology skills across grade levels Integrate technology into core content areas by collaborating with classroom teachers Use assessments and data to inform instruction and support scholar growth Create a structured, safe, and inclusive classroom environment with strong routines and procedures Foster scholars' creativity, problem-solving, and digital citizenship skills Build strong relationships with scholars, colleagues, and families Implement restorative practices and support scholars' social-emotional development Contribute positively to a collaborative, fast-paced, and mission-driven school environment What We're Looking For A successful Legacy educator is someone who: Believes Deeply in Scholars Holds an unwavering belief that all scholars can achieve at high levels Commits to improving outcomes for scholars, especially in underserved communities Drives Academic Results Designs engaging, data-informed instruction that leads to meaningful growth Demonstrates persistence, organization, and strong goal-setting Leads with Cultural Responsiveness Creates inclusive, culturally relevant learning experiences Values diverse perspectives and backgrounds Builds Strong Relationships Establishes trust with scholars, families, and colleagues Collaborates effectively across teams Thrives in a Dynamic Environment Works efficiently in a fast-paced school setting Brings a positive, solutions-oriented mindset Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university required Minimum of 2 years of full-time teaching experience (urban school experience preferred) Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) or equivalent preferred Experience teaching technology, computer science, or digital literacy strongly preferred
Compensation Salary Range:
$54,000
