Job Type:
Part-Time (up to 15 hours per week) Available Class Schedule(s): Varies; Weekdays and Weekends; Morning and Evening Sessions About IIFA English Learning Center IIFA English Learning Center (IIFA) is dedicated to fostering excellence in English as a Second Language and Teacher Training. We believe that students unlock their potential through their unique experiences and cultures, and we focus on group interaction to help them flourish in a global society. The Role We are seeking a dedicated and culturally competent ESL Instructor with experience in teaching Business English. to join our faculty. This is a contracted part-time position where you will act as a teacher and a mentor, guiding students through their linguistic journey and helping them adjust to their community.
What You'll Do Instruction & Planning:
Prepare and plan for assigned classes, ensuring Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) are met.
Innovation:
Utilize innovative approaches such as project-based, task-based, and experiential learning.
Student Support:
Act as an ongoing mentor, hold progress conferences, and help students adjust to the culture and community.
Administration:
Grade homework, quizzes, and exams within 48 hours and maintain accurate records in our LMS (Classe365).
Collaboration:
Assist in curriculum development, selection of course texts, and participate in "End of Quarter" meetings.
Development:
Commit to ongoing professional development and update training logs regularly.
What We're Looking For Education:
Bachelor's degree in TESOL, Linguistics, or a related field (Master's preferred for college prep or TESOL courses).
Certification:
Valid
TESOL/TEFL
certification (if degree is not in TESOL).
Experience:
At least two years of English language teaching experience at the post-secondary level. Experience in teaching Business English and familiarity with business topics and concepts.
Skills:
Strong interpersonal and intercultural communication skills.
Availability:
Flexible to teach weekdays between 8:00 am and 9:00 pm at our Mount Prospect location.
Tech-Savvy:
Familiarity with Google Drive and the ability to effectively teach in a fast-paced environment.
