This role supports students in developing listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills while helping them succeed in the general education curriculum. The ESL Teacher collaborates with classroom teachers, communicates with families, and fosters an inclusive, culturally responsive learning environment. Provide direct ESL instruction aligned with state standards and language proficiency levels Assess students' English language development and monitor progress regularly Develop and implement differentiated lesson plans based on students' needs Collaborate with classroom teachers to support language development across content areas Support classroom instruction through push-in and/or pull-out services Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessments, and compliance documentation Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and language support Create a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment that respects diverse cultures Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school initiatives Assist with language proficiency testing and placement of multilingual learners

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Education, ESL, or related field Valid teaching license with ESL/ELL endorsement (state-specific) Knowledge of language acquisition theory and best instructional practices Experience working with diverse student populations preferred Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills The K-8 ESL Teacher provides targeted English language instruction to multilingual learners, supporting their development in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. This role collaborates with staff to ensure students can access grade-level content in an inclusive learning environment.
