Job Description
Overview We are seeking a passionate and energetic 5th Grade English Language Arts Teacher to inspire young learners and foster a love for reading, writing, and critical thinking. In this dynamic role, you will create engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, support students' literacy development, and cultivate a positive classroom environment. Responsibilities Implement comprehensive lesson plans focused on literacy education, writing skills, and reading comprehension tailored to 5th-grade students. Utilize diverse teaching methods, including learning technology and hands-on activities, to engage students with varying learning styles. Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management strategies and classroom management techniques. Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, including standardized testing preparation. Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum development initiatives and integrate library services into daily instruction. Provide tutoring and individualized support to students with special education needs or those requiring early intervention. Mentor new teachers or teaching assistants, sharing best practices in childhood development, classroom management, and early childhood education. Experience Prior classroom experience teaching 5th grade or similar age group in a school setting is preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in proofreading, lesson planning, and curriculum development for elementary learners. Experience working with children with autism or other special needs populations is highly desirable. Knowledge of literacy education strategies, math integration, and standardized testing procedures. Familiarity with teaching physical education components and incorporating movement into lessons is a plus. Strong communication skills for working effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and school administration. Background in private school environments or Montessori methods is advantageous but not required.
