Assist in the implementation of education programs by providing comprehensive assessments, evaluations and instruction to meet the needs of children.DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
Instructor II provides assistance to students and serves as a resource.REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assist in the implementation of educational programs by providing comprehensive assessments, evaluations, and instruction to meet the needs of students. Provide instruction, evaluation of student progress and achievement Maintain accurate records, provide data to appropriate personnel Plan regularly with staff and participate in appropriate school meetings and activities Comply with policies, rules and regulations of the School District and State or federal regulatory agencies where appropriate Plans a program of student that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students Guides the learning process toward achievement of curriculum goals and establishes clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects to communicate these objectives to students, as adopted by the local and state Board of Education Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, and for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom if a fair and consistent manner Makes provision for being available to students and parents for education related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms Promotes programs and public relations for the school's programs and activities Perform related duties as assignedKNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES KNOWLEDGE OF
Basic instructional methods and techniques. Basic learning theory applicable to the student group served. Students with special needs, multi-cultural and multi-ethnic backgrounds. Basic subjects taught in District schools including arithmetic, reading, writing, grammar and spelling. Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary. Classroom procedures and appropriate student conduct. Policies and objectives of assigned program and activities. Applicable sections of Kentucky Administrative Regulations and other applicable laws. Health and safety regulationsABILITY TO
Maintain regular and predictable attendance. Provide instruction working with children and parents with special needs, multicultural and multi-ethnic backgrounds. Monitor and evaluate student progress. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Maintain accurate records. Read, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Maintain current knowledge of program rules, regulations, requirements and restrictions. Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of actions. Plan and organize work.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Any combination equivalent to: 64 semester hours and one year of successful school or classroom experience.LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
