Grade Language Arts and Literature Teacher Parish/School:
Sacred Heart Model School Description:
SHMS is seeking a committed and nurturing educator for the 2026-2027 school year for the position of 8th Grade Language Arts and Literature Teacher. SHMS is Catholic co-educational school and is an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme. The IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) approaches to teaching and learning are centered on developing the whole child through a cycle of action, inquiry, and reflection. SHMS classrooms are student-centered. The IB philosophy places a strong emphasis on critical thinking, cooperative group work and social responsibility. Sacred Heart Schools is sponsored by the Ursuline Sisters of Louisville. Qualifications:
Teacher Certification is required. Experience in teaching language arts and literature is preferred. The candidate should be skilled and knowledgeable in best teaching practices in a 21st century classroom and dedicated to caring for all students, able to collaborate and communicate effectively, and have a strong desire to learn, to implement innovative strategies, and to cultivate leadership in his/her students.
