Job Description

The Ashburnham-Westminster Regional School District is seeking a dynamic and student-centered High School English Teacher for the 20262027 school year. The successful candidate will join a collaborative department committed to fostering strong literacy, critical thinking, communication, and analytical skills in all students.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for literature and writing instruction, an ability to engage diverse learners, and a commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment. Candidates should be comfortable integrating educational technology and differentiated instructional practices to support student achievement and growth. Responsibilities -Plan and deliver engaging English Language Arts instruction aligned with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks-Teach courses that may include literature, composition, grammar, research, and critical analysis-Develop lessons that promote reading comprehension, writing proficiency, discussion, and critical thinking skills-Differentiate instruction to meet the academic and social-emotional needs of diverse learners-Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to students and families-Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and administration to support student success-Utilize educational technology to enhance instruction and student engagement-Participate in department meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives-Foster positive relationships with students and contribute to the school community through co-curricular involvement
