We are seeking a dedicated Middle School English Language Arts Teacher for the 2026 to 2027 school year. This position is ideal for experienced educators who want to deepen their classroom impact, as well as individuals beginning a career in education who are passionate about literacy and helping students grow as readers and writers.

Position OverviewThe Middle School English Language Arts Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and rigorous literacy instruction to students in grades 6 through 8. Teachers guide students in developing reading comprehension, writing proficiency, and critical thinking skills through a range of literary and informational texts.
The successful candidate will create a classroom environment where students feel encouraged to read closely, think critically, and express their ideas with confidence.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and teach daily English Language Arts lessons aligned with Massachusetts curriculum standards.
Guide students in developing reading comprehension, writing skills, vocabulary, and grammar.
Design and administer assessments that measure student mastery of literacy skills.
Facilitate classroom discussions that encourage critical thinking and respectful exchange of ideas.
Use differentiated instruction and inclusion strategies to support diverse learners.
Analyze student data and written work to inform instruction and improve student outcomes.
Maintain a positive and structured classroom environment that promotes focus, participation, and academic growth.
Communicate regularly with families about student progress and classroom learning.
Collaborate with grade level teams and school leadership to strengthen curriculum and instructional practices.
Participate in professional development and teacher training provided by the school.
QualificationsCandidates should demonstrate strong literacy skills and a commitment to helping middle school students develop confidence as readers, writers, and thinkers.
Minimum requirements include: Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university.
Valid Massachusetts teacher license in English Language Arts or a related content area by the first day of school.
Candidates who are not yet licensed but are interested in experiential teacher training are encouraged to apply, with the goal of becoming licensed within the first year of employment.
Strong background in English, literature, writing, or education is preferred.
