This position entails teaching ESL classes to a variety of grades and language levels. In addition, the faculty member will fulfill all regular duties and commitments required of CCSC staff.

An English Language (EL) teacher can expect to:

• Plan and teach multiple sections of ESL class to EL students at all language levels-Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of individual students
• Work collaboratively to create and implement a program of study that is intellectually challenging-Work with a diverse student body from Cambridge, Boston, and surrounding cities-Promote a school-wide culture of respect using the principles of restorative justice
• Work collaboratively to support EL students at all language levels in general education classrooms-Develop an appropriate (aligned with WIDA and DESE standards and guidelines) curriculum that supports rapid language acquisition for English Learners at all language levels-Engage with families regularly to support students learning and well-being
• Participate in myriad forms of professional development as scheduled for all faculty

Qualifications:

certification in ESL grades 512-Knowledge of methods and materials for teaching ELs-Experience developing curriculum for English Learners-Masters degree in ESL, TESOL, Applied Linguistics or related field preferredCompensationSalaries on CCSCs teacher salary schedule are based on number of years of experience and education level, with up to 5 full years of full-time, lead-teaching experience at

schools honored. Salaries range from $58,763 for Step 1 with a bachelors degree and $81,110 for Step 6 with a doctoral degree.
