We are seeking a qualified candidate to join our team and to realize that mission.
Position Objective:
The Long Term Sub (LTS) Teacher will plan, deliver, and assess high-quality instruction aligned with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks to support the academic, social, and emotional growth of all students. This position exists to create an inclusive, engaging, and safe learning environment where every student can achieve their fullest potential. The LTS Teacher will collaborate with colleagues, families, and the broader school community to promote student success, while upholding district policies, and professional standards.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for delivering high quality instruction and feedback and grading to studentsResponsible for collaborating with special education teachers to differentiate curriculum and instructionResponsible for remaining up to date regarding curriculum contentResponsible for effective planning and assessment of curriculum and instructionResponsible for mentoring students understanding of the curriculum effectively and adjusting instruction, materials, or assessments, when appropriateResponsible for effective management of the classroom environmentResponsible for effective instruction, which includes making learning goals clear to the students, using appropriate instructional and questioning techniquesResponsible for using innovative approaches, and instructional strategies, including the effective use of technologies, to increase student learning and confidence to learnResponsible for the promotion of high standards and expectations for student achievementResponsible for the promotion of equity and appreciation of diversity to ensure equitable opportunities for student earning, including, for implementing specific strategies for students with special needs, and\or English language learnersResponsible for providing equal educational and employment opportunities to all individual regardless of race, color, gender, age, religion, gender identity, national origin, marital status, sexual orientation, disability, or homelessnessPerformance of other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors DegreeAppropriate MA Certification as an Educator in the Content and Grade Level FieldMust pass a pre-employment criminal background check
Preferred Qualifications:
Substitute Teaching and/or Teaching ExperienceSuccess delivering standards-based instruction aligned with the MA Curriculum FrameworksFamiliarity with inclusive practices and culturally responsive teachingProficiency with technology, digital learning tools, and blended learning approachesEffective communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, colleagues, and administratorsCommitment to continuous professional growth and reflective practiceAbility to foster an engaging, supportive, and respectful classroom environment that promotes equity and high expectations for all students
Salary & Terms of Employment:
In accordance with the Freetown-Lakeville Regional School Collective Bargaining Agreement. Employment is contingent upon job performance, program needs, and funding. Daily Rate $90
