These efforts are monitored and assessed regularly to ensure accountability to all stakeholders. Position Summary The Wetherbee School is seeking a Grade 6 - English Teacher for the 2026-2027 year. The ideal candidate possesses a belief that all students are capable of learning. Experience with co-teaching and inclusion practices, including collaborative planning, are recommended.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively to align curriculum to the rigor of the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks
• Implement common assessments to measure progress toward academic standards
• Use data from formative and summative assessments to inform and adapt instruction
• Meet weekly with grade-level content and interdisciplinary teams
• Collaborate with Special Education and ESL staff to differentiate instruction for diverse learners
• Participate in biweekly instructional coaching sessions to improve practice
• Serve as an advisor to a group of 8-15 students
• Communicate weekly with students and families regarding academic and behavioral progress
• Contribute to school culture and support school-wide events and expectations
• Uphold high expectations for student achievement and behavior

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
• Valid Massachusetts DESE licensure in English
• SEI (Sheltered English Immersion) endorsement required
• Passing scores on the Communication and Literacy Skills test and relevant subject matter knowledge tests
• At least two years of experience teaching in a similar setting preferred
