ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHER

ELA - GRADE 6 WALES

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT

REPORTS TO:

Principal

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide instructional programs that promote student's development of skill and knowledge in content area.
• Demonstrate effective command of classroom that supports student learning.
• Work as a contributing member of the School Community.
• Establish effective rapport with pupils to develop the skill, attitudes, and knowledge necessary to become successful individuals in accordance with each pupil's ability.
• Establish positive relationships with parents/ guardians and staff members.
• Teach both Grade 6 and Grade 5 English Language Arts as well as be the Grade 6 Homeroom Teacher
• Attend Professional Development as directed by the administrator both in and out of district
• Other responsibilities deemed necessary by administration

• Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and administration.
• Modify student work to match students' level of understanding and development.
• Maintain cooperative, productive and flexible working relationship with students and staff.
• Solve practical problems with students and staff.
• Understand and carry out oral and written directions.
• Plan and organize work to meet deadlines.
• Provide information and assistance to parents, the general public and other staff members in a helpful, courteous and timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A Massachusetts Elementary License 1-6
• Demonstrated expertise in specific instructional content area, as assigned.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Approved CORI and Fingerprinting results
