Job Description
Position Title:
.5 English Language Learner (ELL) Teacher
Location:
District Wide
Reports to: Building Principals/Director of Student Support Services
Funded by:
General Budget
Qualifications:
oMust hold current, grade-appropriate MA ESL license
oMust be trained in administering ACCESS
oMust be fluent with WIDA-English Language Development standards
oMust be knowledgeable about English Language Education state and federal regulations
oOrganized & flexible
oCollaborative
Responsibilities:
oProvide direct ESL instruction to students
oScreen potential EL students
oAssist parents/guardians in completing Home Language Survey, as needed
oCoordinating and administering ACCESS testing
oKeep EL student records up to date, with all mandated paperwork
oComplete and provide parents/guardians w/Parent Notification Letters within mandated timelines
oWork collaboratively with general education teachers to complete FEL and Opt-Out Monitoring forms and disseminate to parents within mandated timelines
oWork collaboratively with general education teachers to help students access the general education curriculum
oUpdate ESL curriculum
oWork collaboratively with Director of EL to ensure implementation of a high quality program
oPerform other duties as assigned
