English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher (6-12)

Manistee Middle High School

Job Summary:

Manistee Middle High School is seeking a passionate and innovative ELA Teacher committed to fostering a love for reading, writing, and critical thinking. The ideal candidate will create a dynamic learning environment that supports student success through engaging instruction, literacy development, and data-driven strategies.

Qualifications:

Required:

○​ Valid Michigan Teaching Certification with BA or BX endorsement ○​ Highly Qualified as defined by NCLB (Elementary or Secondary certification considered) •​

Recommended:

○​ Experience with Writer's Workshop, Collaborative Classroom, and Reading Apprenticeship ○​ Strong technology preparedness to enhance student learning ○​ Familiarity with the PLC framework for collaborative instructional planning ○​ Ability to analyze and utilize NWEA data to drive student growth ○​ Proven experience in implementing best practices for literacy instruction ○​ Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to student engagement
