Qualifications:
Michigan Secondary Teaching Certificate with BA or BQ 9-12 Endorsement
Job Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English Language Arts instruction aligned with state standards and district curriculum Teach a range of secondary ELA courses Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic needs of students, including English learners and students with disabilities Use a variety of instructional strategies and technology to support student learning Assess student progress using formative and summative assessments and use data to inform instruction Provide timely feedback to students and communicate academic progress to parents/guardians Maintain accurate student records, including grades and attendance Create and maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment Implement classroom management strategies consistent with school and district expectations Collaborate with colleagues in professional learning communities (PLCs) to analyze data and improve instructional practices Participate in the development and implementation of IEPs, 504 Plans, and other student support plans Provide academic intervention and enrichment as needed, including tutoring or extra help sessions Integrate real-world applications and problem-solving into ELA instruction Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school events Communicate and collaborate effectively with administrators, counselors, and support staff Uphold district policies, school rules, and professional ethics The Board of Education does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, (including sexual orientation and transgender identity), disability, age, religion, height, weight, marital or family status, military status, ancestry, genetic information or any other legally protected category, (collectively, "Protected Classes"), in its programs and activities, including employment opportunities.
