Job Description Position:
Secondary English Teacher Job Summary:
Work with students to develop English Language Arts knowledge and skills that are fundamental to their success.
Qualifications:
1. Valid State of Michigan teaching certificate 2. Endorsement in BA English 3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators 4. Strong understanding of middle school and high school students and age-appropriate teaching methods 5. Proficiency with educational technology and software
Job Responsibilities:
1. Successfully educate students on state and district standards. 2. Plan and deliver effective instruction aligned with district-provided curriculum. 3. Implement a variety of teaching methods and strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities. 4. Establish and communicate clear objectives for all lessons and learning activities. 5. Integrate technology effectively into the curriculum. 6. Monitor and evaluate student progress through regular assessments and provide timely feedback. 7. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. 8. Create a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning, and build strong relationships with students. 9. Collaborate with special education staff as needed to provide students with IEPs, appropriate accommodations, and supplementary aids. 10. Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate progress to parents/guardians. 11. Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices and district initiatives. 12. Attend staff meetings and collaborate with colleagues to improve instructional strategies.
