Job Description

Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
Job Summary Holy Spirit Catholic School is seeking a dedicated and faith-filled educator to serve as an English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The teacher will foster a love of reading, writing, and critical thinking while supporting the spiritual, academic, and personal growth of students within a Catholic school environment. Key Responsibilities Provide engaging, standards-based instruction in English Language Arts, including reading, writing, grammar, and literature. Develop and implement lesson plans that promote critical thinking, comprehension, and effective communication skills. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic needs of students. Assess student progress regularly and communicate effectively with parents and administration. Integrate technology and a variety of instructional strategies to enhance learning. Collaborate with grade-level and subject-area team members to support curriculum alignment and student success. Maintain classroom discipline consistent with school policies and expectations. Support and participate in school Masses, prayer, and Catholic identity initiatives. Foster a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in education or a related field. Valid teaching certification (elementary or middle school ELA preferred). Strong background in English Language Arts instruction. Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills. Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.
