Humanities Teacher Our Academy is in search of a full-time Humanities Teacher, who will fulfill these responsibilities: Teach 7th and 8th grade Humanities, which entails an integrated approach to the following:

Literature:

Close reading of classic and historically significant texts.

History:

Study of major civilizations with emphasis on primary sources and understanding cause-and-effect in historical events.

Writing:

Instruction in structured writing, including essays, textual analysis, and clear, evidence-based argumentation.

Grammar and Language Skills:

Ongoing development of grammar, vocabulary, and mechanics to improve clarity and precision in writing.

Speaking and Discussion:

Guided Socratic discussion and oral presentations to build clear, logical, and articulate communication.

Cultural and Philosophical Foundations:

Exposure to foundational ideas in philosophy, ethics, and civic thought that shape Western civilization. Instruct with a keen awareness that virtue is the end of a good education. Seek to grow personally in and out of the classroom, and to therefore participate in ongoing professional development opportunities given by the Academy.
