  • KSS (2026-2027) King Street School Job Description English Language Arts Teacher for Alternative School Come join our team!
SAU #23 is seeking a full-time English Teacher to work in our Alternative High School program in Woodsville, NH. Candidates should possess an NH Educator Certification or eligibility. The successful candidate will collaborate with colleagues and provide classroom instruction to students enrolled at King Street School, an alternative education program that serves youth in grades 9-12.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working with at-risk youth and the ability to develop trusting relationships
  • Participate as a team member to design an integrated program that includes curriculum, academics, electives, vocational courses
  • Manage and address student's social and behavioral needs
  • Develop and implement small group instruction for students with and without disabilities
  • Plan daily classroom instructional activities
  • Assess student progress using multiple formal and informal tools and progress monitoring tools
  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and ethics
  • Experience with behavior intervention/management
  • Trained in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) or willing to become trained
  • Background in teaching English Language Arts a plus.
