Aug 17, 2026 Job Description Oliverian School is an alternative, college-preparatory boarding high school for bright adolescents who have not felt at home in traditional settings. Our supportive academic and student-life program helps students embrace their unique identity, purpose, and voice so that they can contribute to any situation and find their place the world. The Oliverian academic department provides an engaging and challenging academic curriculum that prepares students for college, while remaining responsive to their individual strengths, special needs, and diverse learning styles. The Oliverian teachers seek to inspire a love of learning through a focus on engagement, student choice, and experiential and applied learning. We support students in identifying, gaining access to, and transitioning into appropriate post-secondary opportunities. The ideal candidate will:- Plan and teach a variety of integrated English and Social Studies classes for students in grades 9 through 12.
- Be responsible for providing exceptional instruction, balancing challenge and support for students with a wide range of learning profiles and academic background and ability.
- Serve as an academic advisor and team leader to a group of five or six students. As team lead, you will be the point person for communication with parents and will collaborate with other team members to develop individualized guidance for each Advisee.
- Maintain excellent record keeping and communication regarding student work.
- Provide afternoon/evening programming support one day per week and serve as respite dorm parent every fourth weekend. Respite duties include organizing campus extracurricular activities as well as leading off-campus trips. Valid driver's license required.
- Have at minimum a Bachelor's degree.
