Position Overview K-5 Classroom Teachers at SCA play a central role in shaping both the minds and character of their students. Teachers lead daily instruction in the core subjects of the classical curriculum:

• English (literacy, grammar, composition, and literature)
• Mathematics
• History
• Science Beyond instruction, teachers cultivate classrooms marked by order, attentiveness, curiosity, and joy—guiding students to develop strong habits of thought, study, and character. Primary Responsibilities
• Deliver engaging, content-rich lessons aligned with the Hillsdale K-12 Program Guide.
• Provide clear, structured instruction grounded in the principles of classical education.
• Establish and maintain a classroom culture of respect, focus, and intellectual curiosity. Set and uphold high expectations for academic achievement and student conduct.
• Build strong partnerships with families through consistent and meaningful communication.
• Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to continuously strengthen instruction and school culture.
• Actively pursue professional growth through coaching, development opportunities, and independent study.
