This position is ideal for an educator who values academic excellence, enjoys working with student-athletes, and wants to be part of a high-performing school culture focused on both educational and athletic success. Our students participate in a unique model that combines rigorous academics with elite athletic training. We utilize a hybrid/blended learning environment and are looking for a teacher who can build strong relationships, maintain high expectations, and help students continue achieving some of the highest academic growth and test scores in Nevada. A background in athletics, coaching, sports performance, or a passion for sports is highly desirable, as our culture is built around developing disciplined, goal-oriented student-athletes. Essential ResponsibilitiesInstruction and Student Learning Teach English Language Arts courses for students in grades 6-12. Facilitate learning within a blended/hybrid instructional model utilizing online curriculum and teacher-led instruction. Deliver engaging mini-lessons, small-group instruction, intervention, enrichment, and writing support. Monitor student progress and provide timely academic feedback. Use assessment data to identify learning gaps and implement targeted interventions. Support students in developing reading, writing, speaking, listening, and critical thinking skills. Maintain high academic expectations while providing individualized support. Student Achievement Help maintain and improve schoolwide academic performance and state assessment results. Monitor student progress toward mastery of Nevada Academic Content Standards. Utilize formative and summative assessment data to drive instructional decisions. Support students in meeting growth goals and graduation requirements. Classroom Culture and Management Establish a positive, structured, and relationship-driven classroom environment. Implement schoolwide expectations and behavior systems consistently. Foster student accountability, resilience, and professionalism. Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes. Collaboration and School Culture Collaborate with administrators, coaches, teachers, and families to support student success. Participate in professional development and staff meetings. Contribute positively to the school's mission and team-oriented culture. Support school events, testing initiatives, and student activities as needed. Athletic Culture Alignment Understand and support the unique needs of student-athletes. Encourage the development of discipline, leadership, teamwork, and personal responsibility. Build relationships with students through shared interests in athletics, competition, and personal growth. QualificationsRequired Valid teaching license with English Language Arts certification for grades 6-12 (or ability to obtain appropriate Nevada licensure). Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Strong classroom management and communication skills. Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff. Commitment to academic excellence and student growth. Preferred Teaching experience in middle school and/or high school ELA. Experience with blended learning, online curriculum, or personalized learning models. Coaching experience or athletic background. Experience working with student-athletes.
