We develop young men into moral and ethical leaders who are dedicated to Christian service and who strive for spiritual, intellectual and physical excellence. We are seeking a full-time, experienced English teacher (2026-2027 Academic Year) who shares our values and will be responsible for. Demonstrating strong written and oral communication skills. Preparing lessons for a minimum of two different courses within the English Department. Effectively assessing student writing. Providing appropriate strategies for developing student writing skills. Demonstrating knowledge of literature from a variety of traditions. Planning, designing, and developing engaging lessons that meet the educational needs of the students. Effectively using appropriate educational technology. Effectively collaborating with members of the staff, faculty, and administration of Iona Prep. Effectively communicating with parents and students. Performing supervisory duties as assigned. Responding appropriately and professionally to changes in the work setting. This position reports to the English Department Chair and the Dean of Academics. NYS Certification Preferred. Two Years of Experience in High School Setting Preferred. Bachelor's Degree in English; Master's Preferred.
