Position Summary:
The English Language Development (ELD) Specialist is primarily responsible for effective teaching and learning of English Language Development within the assigned subject(s) following district approved curriculum, instruction and assessment practices. Primary responsibility shall include student safety and appropriate collaboration and attention to each student's readiness to learn including needed guidance, discipline, and welfare. The ELD Specialist may teach in a variety of elementary and/or secondary educational, individual or team teaching settings.
License Requirement:
Must hold or be able to obtain a valid Oregon Teaching License with an English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) endorsement.

PLEASE NOTE
North Clackamas Schools is negotiating the licensed contract for the 26-27 school year. Below is our Annual Salary Range for the 25-26 school year: Annual Salary Range (2025-2026): $58,788 - $111,463 (193-Day Contract). Initial placement based on education, experience. This salary range reflects 1.0 FTE. Actual salary is prorated based on FTE and start date. Stipend(s) are pro-rated based on 1.0 FTE and start/end dates of position/assignment. As a licensed employee, you are eligible to receive: A stipend of $2,500 if certified by NBPTS (National Board for Professional Teaching Standards). A stipend of $3,000 if you hold a PhD or EdD.
Retirement Plan Contribution:
North Clackamas School District participates in the Oregon Public Employee Retirement System (PERS and OPSRP) on behalf of its employees. The district contributes the employer portion; there is also a mandatory employee portion. Upon eligibility, which is defined as working at least six full calendar months in a qualifying position, the employee is required to contribute 6% as their employee portion, via payroll deduction. Part-time employees working at least six months and 600 hours in a calendar year will qualify.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have successful experience in working with culturally diverse families and communities, or have otherwise demonstrated a commitment to strengthening engagement of a diverse community and skill in communicating with a diverse population. Successful completion of a teacher certification program at an accredited college or university, and valid state certification(s) and/or endorsement(s). Evidence of continuous professional learning and a commitment to participate in professional growth opportunities and self-reflection on professional practice. Demonstrated content knowledge for subjects/levels being taught. Including, effective and proficient oral and written English language skills. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with parents, students, and staff. Commitment to effective collaboration and teaming within a professional learning community. Skill in classroom management and ability to achieve, support, and maintain acceptable student behavior. Knowledge of and ability to use appropriate and multiple assessment, instruction, and evaluation techniques. Knowledge of child and adolescent development and ability to that knowledge to the selection and application of curriculum materials and instructional practices. Knowledge and skill in the use of strategies necessary to meet the diverse needs of students. Knowledge and skill in culturally responsive teaching and learning. Skill and ability to utilize technology to aid instruction, assessment and learning. Any position specific special qualifications indicated in the recruitment process.
